Taking Photo ID pictures is now easier than ever, thanks to today are high quality digital
cameras. You won't need the most expensive model either. Any basic digital camera will do
the job.
Set Up: Choose one room or office where all photos will be
taken. This room should have as much natural light as possible. Set up your camera and
subject with the natural light at the back of the photographer. Mount
the camera on a tripod if possible. To maintain a consistent image for all your
staff photos a single color backdrop or wall (usually white or light colored)
behind the subject will work great.
Taking the Picture: ID pictures are likely be used everyday, so you should attempt to get the best possible
likeness you can. Take several shots, allow your employee to preview and ok the photo on the camera's LCD screen.
Always use your flash, If your camera has several quality settings, choose the (640x 480) option, the photo on the
IDs are printed fairly small. Also, in addition when sending the pictures over the Internet, the smaller files will
transfer more quickly. When using the cameras own software for capturing the photos, save the images using the details
that you want on the ID badge. For instance, you may save a photo as: "Jennifer Smith Managing Director.jpg".
or in the body of the email let us know which photo go's with which person ie. Photo # DCT00058 Jennifer Smith Managing Director.
Using your camera's or computer software you can save the pictures in 'albums or files' on your hard drive. The subjects image to be easily
stored by 'department' or 'employee number' or as any other suitable category. This enables
you to create and maintain a company database of your staff, complete with ID pictures.
Sending the pictures: Using your computer, select the photos you wish to send and
E-Mail to: ID USA
Its really that simple, your computer will automatically transfer
your photos directly to our badging facility. Please keep
your original pictures safely stored, as we do not archive your ID pictures.
